I'm not sure what this lawsuit is going to accomplish. Even if Sony loses, they will pay a nominal fine, and then they'll just change “Buy now” to “Play now” and “game you already own” to “game you already have” or something and it'll make zero difference.

If the plaintiffs are smart, they'll use Sony themselves calling digital licenses "owned" items, to say that Sony understood that licenses should be treated as other owned objects -which would naturally entail the non-revocability of a purchase outside exigent circumstances like malfeasance- but are now trying to change that post-hoc, and argue the court should not let them.

Yes, and that might help some people who always bought the game, but it won't change the situation going forward is what I'm saying.
